On March 27, 2017, I had the chemo port "installed" ... just another "thing" in my body that makes me feel like a science experiment.
The port is placed under the skin and goes into main veins to make chemotherapy drugs go straight into the heart.

The port placement is a simple out-patient procedure and it is very sore and bruised feeling for a few days after, but heals quickly.

The above diagram is of the Power Port I have placed in my body. It has three little bumps that the nurses can feel. The needle goes into the port and the port sends the chemotherapy direct toward my heart.
