On March 30, 2017, I had my first chemo. I didn't have the numbing cream for my port, so the needle stick and the chemo insertion hurt. My port was sore for a while.
I chose a chair by the window.
All the usual medical equipment.
Chemo is going into me through the IV lines into the port.
After chemo, still feeling good.
Smiling and cracking up with my amazing, beautiful friend Christy! I tried to stay positive during and after chemo, and Christy helps me be happy and positive!
I had enough energy after the first chemo to go to the grocery store. The sickness hit around 7pm. When it hit, it hit hard. It felt like a horrible flu. I curled up in my recliner, so sick, and was in and out all night long.
Those first few days were a blur. I remember sipping some Ensure but no other food. I was just so sick.
Two days after my first chemo, I got a care package with this cute outfit in it. I had to put it on and muster up some strength. It's true that words of affirmation... reading "stronger" on a shirt... helps!
