Project Koru, Continued

Day 2

Hammocks were strung in trees by the shoreline.

We headed off to surf nice and early. Another exciting day of surfing, YAY!!!

After surfing all morning, I was spent!! I laid on the beach for a while, taking in the rays <3 <3

Hawaii is AMAZING!!!

We went from there to the lava field at Keone'o'io (La Perouse Bay) National Park.

Some of our wild crew riding to the lava fields!

The views of the pristine waters around the island are amazing from any angle!

The lava fields were pretty amazing. All the dark color you see is dried lava rock.

I was amazing at the colors in the sand. The sand isn't just one color, it's a mosaic of colors!

We were having fun with pictures :P

I wandered up the trail quite a bit until I ran into the treeline. I did not expect to see what I saw... herds of solid black goats roaming the woods! It was like NARNIA!

The goats are watching........

A quick selfie in front of the port-o-johns with my previously east coast hat style newly replaced by flat bill west coast style ;)

THEN, we spent the afternoon in Lahaina!

We shopped, ate, and I stopped in to the tattoo shop where I planned to get a tattoo later in the week!

I did not feel 100% this afternoon and wandered alone for a while.
